Adding yet another recognition in Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia’s film Love You to The Stars’ is the fact that it is screening at the Osaka Asian Film Festival.
The film about a girl who believes in aliens and eventually meets a cancer-stricken guy on her way to find them, is among the four local films selected to "celebrate the 100 years of Philippine cinema" at the said film festival.
Being part of the festival has made it possible for Love You To The Stars and Back to be shown in Osaka for the first time.
Joining Love You To The Stars and Back in the said festival are Sigrid Andrea P. Bernardo's Mr. and Mrs. Cruz, Mikhail Red’s Neomanila and Giancarlo Abrahan’s Paki (Please, Care).
The last three films are set to vie for the festival's top prize, against 12 other entries from across Asia.
It may be recalled that the Antoinette Jadaone film is the second film starring Julia and Joshua together. Reports had it that the film raked in P100 million in the local box office in less than three weeks.
The Osaka Asian Film Festival is set to run from March 9 to March 18.
