MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday urged Mindanaoans to support the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) following the ratification of the new law through a plebiscite.
“During the three years, one of the great developments that happened in this country is itong BOL,” Duterte said in a speech during the distribution of certificates of land ownership awards (Cloas) to farmers in Buluan, Maguindanao.
“So I’m glad that it has succeeded and I am inviting everyone here, Maguindanao primary, join us in government. This is not mine; this government is for all of us. Be a part of it,” he added.
The BOL, which would pave the way for the replacement of the Autonomous Region on Muslim Mindanao, would bring lasting peace in war-torn Mindanao, according to Duterte.
Duterte said he would dedicate the rest of his term to ensure lasting peace in Mindanao.
“Okay lang ‘yan armas mo, ilibing mo na ‘yan hindi mo ‘yan kailangan. Isang putok lang niyan gulo. Pero kung tahimik tayo, mag-usap tayo at maibigay naman ‘yung gusto niyo na tulong na dapat talaga sa inyo,” he said. /kga
