Eight senatorial candidates agree that President Rodrigo Duterte should issue medical bulletins on his health.
In a forum conducted by CNN Philippines at the University of the Philippines on Sunday, eight senatorial candidates were asked to vote on certain issues affecting the country.
The candidates present were Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano, Sen. Bam Aquino, former Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Ronald dela Rosa, human rights lawyer Chel Diokno, former presidential political adviser Francis Tolentino, Sen. JV Ejercito, and former Sens. Juan Ponce Enrile and Sergio Osmeña.
One of questions was on the health of the President: The Constitution states that the public should be informed in case of serious illness of the President of the Philippines, should the president authorize the issuance of a medical bulletins about his health?
All eight of the senatorial aspirants, including allies of the President, voted “Yes.”
There have concerns about the health of the President.
Many have been urging the President to disclose the state of his health.
According to Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey released early October, majority of Filipinos were worried about the health of the President and agree that it was a public matter. /atm
