Cabinet Secretary Leoncio “Jun” Evasco Jr. on Thursday said he has no plans to run for public office.
“Wala pa naman (So far, none),” he told reporters when asked if he has plans to run for a local position, on the sidelines of the 25th Galing Pook awarding ceremony in Quezon City.
Some reports said Evasco, former mayor of Maribojoc, Bohol, has been eyeing the gubernatorial post in the province.
But Evasco said he is also unsure if he would stay as a Cabinet member of President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration, saying that he has “a lot of options.”
The former rebel-priest-turned-politician also shared the event with Vice President Leni Robredo.

Evasco said he exchanged short greetings with Robredo.
“Just greetings, hi kumusta (hi, how are you), because we have been friends,” said the former National Food Authority Council head.
It was Evasco who sent a text message to Robredo in December to “desist” from attending the Cabinet meetings of the Duterte administration. /ee
