MANILA, Philippines — A fire gutted about 25 houses in Baseco compound in Tondo, Manila on Friday morning, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported.
According to Fire Officer 1 Jeffrey Regulto, the blaze started at 10:58 a.m. then it reached the third alarm at 11:07 a.m. The fire was put out an hour later.
Regulto said the estimated cost of damage reached P50,000.
About 60 families were affected by the incident.
As of this posting, fire investigators have yet to release the result of the investigation. /jpv
